Our contractors license exam preparation class makes the contractors licensing process very simple. Upon enrollment we will send you your study materials with the state application.

You need to fill out the application and submit it to us for a review. We will review and file your application with the state.

While you wait for your test date, you can go over the study material. Once you receive your test date, we will schedule you for a 2-Day class right before your test date.

With this process, you can be licensed in approximately 2-3 months.

This course comes with 2-day live instruction classes. The first day will be Law & Business, whereas the second day will be the Trade portion.

With the in-class course you will receive Law & Trade Study manuals. These manuals will cover general information that you need to know for the Law and Business exam as well as the Trade exam.

Unlike other schools that offer only the Law study manual, we offer both Law & Trade study manuals to help you pass your contractors license exam.

This manual is not a photocopy of the building codes, but it is written in simple terms for anyone to understand. We also use many drawings and illustrations to help you learn and retain the information that you will need for your contractors license exam.

DVDs and/or Audio CDs

Math Review DVD

Every course comes with a Math Review DVD. This DVD covers math formulas that you will see on the State test. We use drawings and illustrations to help you get a better understanding of the math subject.

General Knowledge DVDs & Audio CDs

The instructor will go over general Law and Trade information that you need to know for the State exam. This DVD compliments the information covered in the manual. Trade specific DVDs & Audio CDs are available for most major trades, including the following classifications: A, B, C-5, C-6, C-7, C-8, C-9, C-10, C-12, C-15, C-16, C-17, C-20, C-27, C-33, C-36, C-39, C-46, C-54.

Health and Safety DVDs & Audio CDs

On the contractors license trade exam, there will be anywhere between 10-30% information pertaining to Health & Safety. You will get DVDs that will accompany the Health & Safety handout.

Practice Exams

This course comes with a 90-day complimentary access to our on-line tests. We also have our exclusive mobile app that will allow you to take these online practice exams at your convenience.

Our system will provide you with 3-7 tests for each Trade and for the Law & Business. Each test will contain anywhere between 100-125 questions.

You can use these exams as much as you want and they are available 24/7. We recommend that you score a minimum of 80% on our tests, however the actual State test scores will be lower. If you score 80% with our system, you will have a good chance at passing your contractors license exam.

Application Review

The application process is the most difficult part of becoming a licensed contractor in California. If the application is not filled out properly, the application might be denied and/or rejected by the Contractors State License Board.

Additional Classification

If you currently hold an active California contractors license and would like to add an additional classification to your existing license, then you will only have to pass the Trade exam. You do not need to take the Law & Business exam again.

To add an additional classification to an existing license, you will have to submit an application, pay an application fee of $150.00, and pass the trade exam.
